Spring, Renewal & Presence of Mind
As the long-awaited signs of spring emerge, a little question for you: What are your plans for the season?
The studio's theme this month is Renewal, a word that could mean different things to different people: restarting or re-learning something, a do-over, or a pivot.
This season, we encourage you to pay attention to how this concept applies to you. You may find that you are routinely re-creating or re-doing on the daily, perhaps leaving you with little energy for other types of renewal. Is there a small step you can take toward your desired goals?
Maybe your renewal path is about shifting perspectives. Are you being called to re-evaluate your world view? This is a form of svadhyaya (self inquiry) that's integral to the practice of yoga.

Feeling Good & Doing Good
Lately, we have been noticing a growing sense of disquiet in our community.
At a time like this, taking a break to hold some poses and breathe may feel insufficient or misdirected, but we think -- as yogis have said over the centuries -- that yoga is a necessity now more than ever. Living in a state of sustained anxiety cripples our mental and physical health, and corrodes the many interpersonal relationships that bind us together as a civil society.
Yoga is profound. A practice as simple as moving and breathing with awareness boost our brain function and regulate our nervous system. This helps us break free from our unconscious, fear-based reaction to the world around us. As centered beings, we become better equipped to contribute to a more peaceful world and the national conversation with greater clarity.

SEPTEMBER 2022 Mini Newsletter
Have you ever wondered who your yoga buddies REALLY are besides just a group of people with whom you practice yoga? Well, wonder no more! We are holding our FIRST coffee social this Friday at the Uptown Espresso from 3-5 pm! Our plan is to meet on the 3rd Friday of every month just to connect over a cup of tea or coffee. We have known some of you for years, but mostly in the yoga studio context; we would love to get to know you beyond the yoga mat.
If you’ve seen our flyer or social media, you may have already noticed that Heather Lapierre has joined our studio as our Reiki expert. We are so excited to have her! She moved here this year from California with her family, and lives in Magnolia. Reiki is a healing technique that uses the body’s energy to promote relaxation, and reduce stress and anxiety. Heather is now accepting clients. You can book in a pre-scheduled slot on Mondays through our website or contact her directly for alternate days. Follow this link to learn more about Heather and the power of Reiki!
Some of you have asked about what to do after your Unlimited Summer Yoga Package expired on Labor Day. Our most cost effective option is Autopay ($139) if you plan on attending 2x a week or more. We offer 4-class and 8-class passes in different price tiers, as well as unlimited monthly yoga. There are a lot of choices! Please check out our pricing comparison charts for more details and a helpful breakdown.

SEANNA!
Last but not least, we are really thrilled to welcome Seanna Browder to our team this fall!
Seanna has been teaching yoga in Seattle for over a decade and is very excited to be sharing her gifts through our studio. During Covid, she studied with Tias Little and Prajna Yoga in Santa Fe, New Mexico, thanks to the wonders of Zoom.
She says, “I am so looking forward to getting back in the studio and teaching students. I think Magnolia Yoga and Healing Arts provides a supportive and safe environment for all.”
We are so excited for you to take her classes. We know you’re going to love her!
Seanna will be teaching Hatha Yoga on Monday nights and Yoga Fundamentals on Wednesday mornings, starting Sep. 6.
Our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and your dedication to this practice. Thank you all so much. We welcome your questions and feedback — whether it’s different time slots, classes, workshops, or other healing modalities you’d like to see more of. Please don’t hesitate to reach out — we strive to be your neighborhood sanctuary, a safe space for you to find your center, your peace.
May the remaining weeks of summer continue to brighten your days.
Peace and Light,
Yuko and Ginger
