Lauren Kite (she/her pronouns)

What to expect in Lauren’s classes:

Practitioners from all walks of life can expect to feel the dignity in the lives they have led, and how that shapes their experience of themselves alongside the practice of yoga.

With extensive training in gymnastics, dance, physical therapy, functional movement, and pilates in addition to 20 years practicing yogāsana, Lauren crafts compelling and accessible sequences that support students to continue participating in the movements that matter to them. Whether that includes sweeping up grandchildren into big hugs, continuing to garden season after season, or adapting to injuries and chronic illness, there is a practice that can meet this unique moment, and beyond.

Lauren’s classes are less pose-driven, and more an exploration of mindful movement that provides the experience of increased cohesion between breath, body, and focus, while supporting practitioners to safely and wisely access the foundations of yoga, and tailor to their own needs.

You can expect creative sequencing, a firm foundation in familiar postures, and curated adaptations/modifications while building strength and confidence in our innate capacity to be with Life in this moment, together.

Main Influences/Styles/Traditions:

It is with deepest gratitude and humility I honor the teachers and the lineages that have shaped me and my practice into what it has become.

To the wise guidance of the senior core instructors at 8 Limbs Yoga Centers, my profound thanks - Anne Phyfe Palmer, Chiara Guerrieri, Melina Meza, and Jenny Hayo.

To Tias Little and Sarah Powers, for meeting the fire of my curiosity with the rigor of your own practices and giving me permission to be as interdisciplinary as I naturally am!

My offering most readily is an extension of Insight Yoga (hatha/yin), Viniyoga via Gary Kraftsow for it’s accessibility to practitioners of all levels of ability, and Iyengar Yoga, for it’s timeless wisdom and practical ability to meet the whole psychobiological system.
